On my daughter's first day in Kindergarten at Mona Prep, she met Olivia Johnson and the firm friendship that developed between them created and cemented a lasting friendship between both our families. Today I am so honoured to have been exposed to this great man and I will always treasure the memories over the years. Words cannot adequately express the emotions I am feeling now. My sincere condolences to the entire Johnson family and although nothing will fill the void created by his passing, God and time will heal the pain of your loss. Ambassador Anthony Johnson (Uncle Tony), may you rest in eternal peace.

Farewell my Fortis Brother. Having worked closely with him on the second edition of The History Of Kingston College, the last thing I remember him saying to me when he was leaving my home, he said โ€œ Ronnie you might have to write the next edition of the History of Kingston Collegeโ€, my response was with a smile. You made me appreciate our Fortis History with a passion... I know your beloved Bishop Gibson and Douglas Forrest have welcome you to the College on the other side.,, RIP...

Ambassador Anthony Johnson, OJ lived the motto of our shared alma mater Kingston College - Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Potest (The Brave May Fall, But Never Yield) - for his entire journey of life. Regardless of the challenge, it was guaranteed that Tony Johnson would be in the vanguard to overcome it. I was privileged to receive an autographed copy of his seminal work "History of Kingston College" when he visited Atlanta in 2008. It remains one of my treasured possessions. Although he is physically gone, he will never be forgotten. Sincerest condolences to his family, relatives and other loved ones. May his soul find its way to the good Lord's Garden of Eternal Rest. Fortis Always!

Sincerest condolences go out to the Johnson Family and the Kingston College Family. Jamaica has lost a true stalwart in the fields of politics, economics, education, mining, energy, agriculture and technology. As a proud purple alumnus, Sir Johnson authored the book "The History of Kingston College 1925-2006" in 2012 that was edited by the late journalist Gary Spaulding, a former KC Alumnus as well. Ambassador Johnson has made us all proud to be Jamaicans. Wherever we go and whatever we do, you do it well and never yield. Fortis.

My sincerest condolences again to my colleague Senator Kamina Johnson Smith and the entire family of former Senator and Member of the House of Representative Ambassador the Honourable Anthony Smith Rowe Johnson, OJ. He was the epitome of excellence, dedication and purpose, who made sterling contributions for over 30 years to the development of our beloved country โ€“ Jamaica. We will aim to find comfort in replicating the same diligence, integrity and devotion to the betterment of the less fortunate, while we walk our own path. Walk good Hon. Ambassador Anthony Johnson was an amazing person who played a special role in the lives of all whom he came in contact with. I recall during a business trip to the UK being driven around by Anthony, who went above and beyond to ensure that I received a warm Jamaican welcome despite the grey and cold of London. He was a cherished colleague, scholar and a friend, who will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul rest in peace.

A truly great Fortis gentleman. I met him in 1974/75 in a debate between some old boys and sixth formers. We were both participants on the respective teams. I was happy to meet him as he and his brother, Wally, the Johnson I knew for a while are two Fortis 'fathers' who helped to shape my development and inspire me to be Forever Fortis. Rest in Paradise.
